Inspired by John Masefield's Sea Fever poem "I must go down to the seas again" this lazy Susan turntable is hand painted with a fabulous fish design in a soft blue colour.
They are very popular gifts especially for lovers of the seaside - we've sold lots for people decorating holiday homes.
They’re great as serving boards or in the middle of the table holding various dishes or condiments as you can turn them round for easy access. Use them as cake stands, or put them on display in the kitchen. Somehow they make whatever is on them look more spectacular.
We decorate each lazy Susan by hand; we use a unique process that Cathy developed herself. It's an adaptation of the screen printing process and it results in really rich, strong colour and sharp detailing.
As we hand print each item to order we like to have at least two weeks to make this for you, but we can usually accommodate rush orders of a few days if necessary. Send us a message with your order telling us when you need it by, or ask us now if you'd like to be sure before ordering. Postage costs are calculated at checkout, but for the UK this item is usually £6.
The boards are made from solid birch with a metal fixing for the turntable and a rubber grip on the base. They’re 39.5cm in diameter, a little under 4cm high and they weigh about 1.15kg
They’re coated with two layers of a lovely lacquer. It’s very strong but has hardly any sheen so the paint feels nicely matt, the artwork is well protected from stains or oils in food and they can be washed up without issue. Don't put them through the dishwasher though, we don't think that would end well! And don't use knives on them as that can damage the lacquer.
Normally we offer you lots of colour options but this is one of those designs that we feel works especially well in one particular colour. You're welcome to ask us to produce it in a different tone though, if you would like to.
